Police to enforce NSW's vaccine passport rules at pubs, restaurants, gyms : NSW Deputy Premier says hefty fines await businesses that serve the unvaccinated, NSW will follow in the example of Singapore

by Ganesh Sahathevan

The Daily Telegraph has quoted Deputy Premier John Barilaro  declaring  that "there will be significant fines"
for businesses that serve the unvaccinated.

Enforcement will have to require NSW Police officers to enter premises such as pubs, restaurants and gyms to check that those present have valid vaccine certificates. It will not be possible to prove the commission of any offence by simply checking  customers at the entrance of the premises.

In doing so NSW will be following the example of Singapore, where customers at restaurants are  requested by Government Of Singapore enforcement officers  to provide proof of vaccination. Failure to provide proof of vaccination has resulted in fines for patrons and business owners. Some businesses have also been ordered to close their doors.
