Singtel 's  Optus subsidiary's  chairman, Paul O'Sullivan , was featured  in The Australian ,March 17 2017:

O'Sullivan  has  little if any reputation as a "business leader" apart from that of  chairman Optus. The above letter is therefore, in effect   a letter from among others  Singtel  Optus Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of Singtel Ltd of Singapore, owned and controlled by the Government of Singapore via Temasek.

The letter can therefore be perceived to be  interference by the Government Of Singapore in a matter that concerns  Australian  citizens and voters with regards their laws.
