Irwan Serigar Abdullah attempts to divorce 1 MDB advisory board from 1 MDB............but the Sergeant Shultz defense fails

D.I.M.P., S.A.P. serves as a Secretary General to the Treasury at Ministry of Finance


It has been previously explained on this blog that  1 MDB's 3-tiered governance means PM Najib as paramount chairman is responsible for all wrongdoing,as are the rest of the board of advisors.


It has since been reported that Treasury secretary-general Irwan Serigar Mohamad told the Public Accounts Committee that  1MDB’s board of advisers had never held a meeting, and " had never sought... advice.”
This "I see nothing, I know nothing, I did not wake up this morning " defence, made famous by Seargent Shultz in Hogan's Heroes,cannot work here given that the board of advisors sits right on top of the corporate governance structure, from where it is meant to ask questions and be informed.That its subordinates "had never sought ...advice" is not something any board of directors can get away with.

Cost of NSW LPAB's PLT scandal must be disclosed as a separate item, and notes provided to explain clearly how the scandal came to be; cost must include provision for contingent liabilities

Kärcher says its wet-dry vacuum cleaners are not built to withstand tipping over - Kärcher of Germany suggests replacement rather than repair, despite claims of "sustainable" corporate policies

 by Ganesh Sahathevan  This worter bought a  Kärcher WD 2 Premium Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner (pictured above) trusting the brand name, and German technology. However , there was only  disappointment  for after just a  few infrequent uses, the machine lost suction after tipping over on its side, onto a carpeted floor.  Parts were replaced, tubes were checked for blockage, but nothing worked.  Kärcher was contacted, but disappointingly  Kärcher could only suggest that it would be better to buy a new unit , for that would be cheaper than even the cost of inspection by one of their authorised technicians. Another email was sent, this time to CEO   Hartmut Jenner.
