Recovering FEE HELP payments made to your private college: The example of The College Of Law ,Sydney .Australia

Image
by Ganesh Sahathevan Many assume that a FEE HELP debt once incurred must be re-paid regardless of how poorly one is taught. However, FEE HELP is simply a debt incurred in paying a fee for services to a provider of education services. Where the services are below expectation, one avenue for fee recovery might be the Department Of Education who pays  the fees on behalf of students ie cutomers. FEE HELP approved course fees, must by definition , be limited to the actual  cost  incurred by the approved education services provider. It was clearly not the intention of the Commonwealth Government to add to the profits of FEE HELP approved institutions,  even if this happens with alarming frequency. The fact that customers are unaware of their rights arising from  their contracts for services has probably much to do with why private colleges especially are able to get away with providing poor teaching and assessment services. To put this another way, FEE HELP is pay...

by Ganesh Sahathevan The Gulen movement's NSW Parliament House Iftar is on again.  The Minister in charge of protecting us from terrorism, the Attorney  General Mark Speakman, has maintained his silence, letting instead his subordinates discredit the work of this writer. Meanwhile, the Gulen movement continues to be designated a terrorist organisation by the Government Of Turkey, with whom Australia continues to maintain friendly relations. As previously reported: NSW AG Speakman must explain affinity with the Fetullah Gulen Terrorist Organisation ,despite action against FETO by Turkey, Indonesia and Malaysia END

Sydney Local Health District CEO Teresa Anderson provided COVID quarantine health services under orders from then NSW Commissioner Mick Fuller, but community treatment orders are available only for persons with mental health issues

Image
by Ganesh Sahathevan        Former NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller and his permier Gladys Berejiklian  It has been previously reported that  Sydney Local Health District CEO Teresa Anderson charged COVID quarantine detainees for services ordered by then NSW Commissioner Mick Fuller  even though there is nothing in the Health Services Act that authorises any person being invoiced for services that she or he did not personally request.  That problem however, seems to have been underpinned by an even larger issue for  community treatment orders, which can be enforced by NSW Police, appear to be authorised only for persons with mental health issues.     "Health services" provided travellers held in quarantine were not called community treatment orders but they might as well have been, for that is what they wee at least in form.  In addition to enforced medical procedures Police and Army detained and held under guard trave...

NSW AG Michael Daley says religious leaders who give sermons about homosexuality being "a sin" are protected under proposed NSW gay conversion therapy laws- Daley does not trust religious leaders , so exemption may well be illusory

Image
by Ganesh Sahathevan              Daley made racist comments when in opposition, but did not think he had said anything wrong The ABC has reported:  A bill to ban gay conversion therapy will be introduced to NSW parliament, with allowances made for parents and religious sermons. The Minns government said the bill would "save lives" and outlaw conversion practices such as religious "straight camps" or hypnotherapy sessions designed to change a person's sexual orientation or identity. Attorney-General Michael Daley said religious leaders who gave sermons about homosexuality being "a sin" were protected under the laws. However, Daley does not trust ministers of religion, so it is hard to see how he will ultimatley find a means of prosecuting religious leaders for    sermons about homosexuality. To begin with, Daley has not defined "sermon". To Be Read With  NSW AG Michael Daley "formed a really great affinity with the beauty of t...

NSW Treasurer Daniel Mookhey wants AUD 105 Million in COVID quarantine fees from Queensland for health services requested by former NSW Police Chief Mick Fuller, but never requested by anyone held in quarantine - Queensland can redirect Mookhey's invoice to NSW Police

by Ganesh Sahathevan                                                                                   Mick Fuller ordered travellers into quarantine, and then had SLHD charge them for services he                 ordered The Daily Telegraph reported on 11 February 2024:  Treasurer  Cameron Dick  has rejected the latest claim from NSW for more than $100m in allegedly unpaid Covid-19 quarantine expenses. NSW claims the Sunshine State still owes $105m to cover the costs of its residents undertaking hotel quarantine in Sydney at the start of the pandemic. However  Steven Miles , now Queensland premier, sensationally ripped up the bill in a 2021 social media stunt attacking then prime minister Scott Morrison. Now, in...

Sydney Local Health District CEO Teresa Anderson charged COVID quarantine detainees for services ordered by then NSW Commissioner Mick Fuller

by Ganesh Sahathevan                                                                         SLHD CEO Teresa Anderson AM has ultimate responsibility for signing off SLHD's financial statements Sydney Local Health District CEO Teresa Anderson charged COVID quarantine detainees for services ordered by then NSW Commissioner Mick Fuller . While her conduct may seem to be a mere extension on Fuller's COVID quarantine gymnastics, Andersen is the person in whose name quarantine fee notices are issued. Andersen seems like the logical person with whom to commence a COVID quarantine fee recovery class action.  TO BE READ WITH  Former NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller's COVID quarantine gymnastics may have left the newly minted PwC partner personally liable for the refund of COVID quarantine fees -...

Former NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller's COVID quarantine gymnastics may have left the newly minted PwC partner personally liable for the refund of COVID quarantine fees - Police Commissioners cannot have others pay their costs

Image
by Ganesh Sahathevan                                                    It has been previously revealed on this blog that former NSW  Police Commissioner Mick Fuller may have breached the law with his demand for quarantine fees (see story below).. However,  having taken responsibility for ordering overseas arrivals into quarantine, Fuller then seems to have taken it upon himself to have the  Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) provide health services to the persons held in quarantine. Readers will recall that Revenue NSW issued orders for payment (pretending to be invoices) on behalf of the SLHD  to persons who had been held in quarantine, for health services they never requested. It appears then that Fuller had requested SLHD provide the health services, but  then determined that his department and he would not foot the bill. ...
